Marlins infielder Graham Pauley faces a setback as he competes for a starting role, awaiting imaging results on his right forearm tightness.

Marlins Await Results on Graham Pauley's Forearm Tightness

In the sunny setting of Jupiter, Florida, the Miami Marlins are navigating an early Spring Training challenge. Infielder Graham Pauley is sidelined after experiencing tightness in his right forearm, as confirmed by manager Clayton McCullough.

Pauley, who missed Miami’s first two Spring Training outings, reported the discomfort to the team’s medical staff. It's not uncommon for players to feel some strain as they ramp up activity at the start of camp, but Pauley’s issue hasn’t improved over the past few days.

“We’re still waiting on the results from his imaging,” McCullough shared. “Until we have a clearer understanding, Pauley will be taking a break from baseball activities.”

This spring, Pauley is in a competitive race for the starting third-base position against Connor Norby, a right-handed hitter. Pauley’s left-handed bat and his ability to cover multiple infield positions, including second and first base, make him a valuable asset for the Marlins’ lineup.

Last season, Pauley found himself on the Opening Day roster after Norby suffered a left oblique strain just before the season began. During his rookie year, the 25-year-old posted a .224/.311/.366 slash line, with nine doubles, a triple, and four home runs over 62 games. Notably, he showed significant improvement after the All-Star break, hinting at his potential to make a bigger impact this season.

As the Marlins await further news, Pauley’s health remains a priority. The team hopes for a quick recovery, knowing his versatility and improving performance could play a crucial role in their upcoming campaign.
