Rueben Bain Jr Unveils New Look Before NFL Draft

Ex-Miami Hurricanes standout Rueben Bain Jr. reshapes himself for NFL success, emphasizing versatility and explosive performance ahead of the draft.

Former Miami Hurricanes standout Rueben Bain Jr. recently opened up about his NFL draft journey in an interview with Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network. Bain, who is anticipated to be a top pick in the upcoming draft, highlighted his versatility as a key strength.

"My versatility," Bain explained, "Most people didn't know I could drop into coverage and move around like that. I'm a versatile player, and I've shown that with my new weight and style. I'm still the same player."

Bain has trimmed down to 265 pounds, aiming to enhance his agility and impact on the field. Last season, he was instrumental in leading the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff title game, where they narrowly lost to the Indiana Hoosiers. Bain believes this weight is optimal for his performance.

"I feel like that's the playing weight for me," Bain said. "I feel explosive, strong, quicker, and faster. I'm feeling agile, lean, and loose, ready to be the best version of myself."

While Bain's height of 6-foot-2 has raised some eyebrows, his talent is undeniable. He likened himself to Mike Tyson, saying, "Mike Tyson wasn’t the tallest or the longest, but you felt him."

Projected as a surefire Top 10 pick, Bain is on the radar of teams like the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 4 pick. Joining former UM teammates Cam Ward and Jeffrey Simmons would be a dream come true for him.

"Anywhere I go is a blessing," Bain expressed. "Playing with Cam and Jeffrey again would be incredible. I want to win wherever I go."
