Miami heads into its season opener as a heavy favorite, and the number is a big one: the Hurricanes are laying 23.5 points against Stanford on the FanDuel Sportsbook app.
The matchup is still six days away, but the setup is already taking shape. Miami opens the 2026-27 College Football season on the road against the Cardinal, while Stanford will not be coming in cold. The Cardinal are set to play Hawaii tonight, giving them a game before Friday’s meeting with the Hurricanes.
The betting board has Miami at -4000 on the money line, with the total set at 48.5 points.
Stanford will also be working through a new era when Miami arrives. Tavita Pritchard is back at his alma mater to lead the program in the 2026-27 college football season, and last weekend he named Davis Warren the starting quarterback.
Warren transferred in from Michigan, where he started a couple of games and beat Ohio State during the 2024-25 season. He missed last season with an ACL injury.
The recent numbers point in different directions for these two teams. Miami finished 11-5 against the spread last season and went 2-2 as an away favorite. Stanford ended up 5-7 against the spread, though the Cardinal were 4-1 as home underdogs.
These teams already met last season, when Miami rolled to a 42-7 win at Hard Rock Stadium. Now Stanford gets the rematch at home under the lights on Friday night.
