Miami Linked to Top EDGE Rusher Abraham Sesay in Surprising Turn

Miami is in contention for top EDGE rusher Abraham Sesay as he narrows his college choices, offering hope for a pivotal addition to their 2027 class.

Abraham Sesay, a standout 6-foot-5, 230-pound EDGE rusher from Exton, Pennsylvania, has narrowed his college choices down to six powerhouses: Duke, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Penn State, and South Carolina. Notably, Ohio State, once a strong contender, didn't make the cut.

Sesay is making waves in the recruiting world, ranked as a top-five EDGE in the 2027 Rivals300. Rivals places him at No. 38 nationally, while the Rivals Industry Ranking slots him at No. 77 overall and No. 10 at his position. Over at 247Sports, he's holding steady at No. 78 nationally and No. 8 at EDGE, with their Composite ranking him at No. 72 overall.

His upcoming campus visits could be pivotal. Sesay plans to check out Florida State on March 28, Miami on April 9, and then head back to Notre Dame for their Blue-Gold Game on April 25. These spring visits are crucial as he looks to further whittle down his options to five schools for official visits, aiming to make his final decision this summer.

Sesay has already made the rounds with unofficial visits to Duke, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Nebraska, and Rutgers over the past few months. Each visit adds another layer of insight as he evaluates where he might best fit.

Miami, which already boasts four commits for 2027, including defensive line prospect Demarcus Deroche, is particularly intriguing. The Hurricanes have a strong track record of developing defensive line talent, with Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor both projected as first-round picks in the upcoming NFL draft. For Sesay, joining a program with a proven development pipeline could be a significant factor in his decision-making process.
