Miami Is Suddenly Winning Big In SEC Country Again

Miami's aggressive recruitment strategy in Alabama is shaking up the college football landscape, securing top talent for the 2027 season.

Miami’s recruiting push in Alabama keeps showing up where it matters most: at the top of the board.

In Rivals Industry’s latest look at the 10 highest-ranked committed recruits from Alabama in the 2027 class, the Hurricanes landed two of the first four names. Cornerback Ai'King Hall is No. 1, and interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams is No.

  1. Auburn is the only other school with multiple commitments in the group, and it has three.

Miami is the lone program besides Auburn with more than one pledge among the 10.

Hall is rated No. 91 nationally, No. 12 among cornerbacks and No. 1 in Alabama. Williams sits at No. 110 nationally, No. 9 among interior offensive linemen and No. 4 in the state.

Williams’ path to Miami had some twists. He was originally committed to Alabama in September 2025, backed away from that decision in December and then picked the Hurricanes over Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky and other programs. He announced his commitment on May 21, four days after Hall joined Miami’s class.

The rest of the Alabama list shows how wide the state’s recruiting talent is spread. Auburn has linebacker Isaac McNeil at No. 2, defensive lineman Donivan Moore at No. 7 and wide receiver Deshawn Hall at No.

  1. Texas has edge rusher JaBarrius Garror at No.
  2. NC State is in the mix with quarterback Gunner Rivers at No.
  3. Clemson, Oregon and Oklahoma also appear in the top 10 with their own committed prospects.

Here’s the full Rivals Industry ranking of the top committed recruits in Alabama: Hall at No. 1, McNeil at No.

2, Garror at No. 3, Williams at No.

4, Rivers at No. 6, Moore at No.

7, Jayden Aparicio-Bailey at No. 8, Deshawn Hall at No.

9, Cam Pritchett at No. 10 and Jamison Roberts at No. 11.

Miami Is Building Serious Momentum With A Major Florida Target

Miamis 2028 recruiting push is starting to look like more than just early noise, especially with the states talent pipeline giving the Hurricanes a real chance to chase one of the nations best classes. A major part of that momentum is the attention around IMG Academy defensive lineman Chase Foster, a highly regarded Florida target who has Miami very much in the mix as the program works to strengthen its future front.

The ripple effect goes beyond one defender. Miami has also extended an offer to 2027 tight end Jaylen Fitzgerald, kept its focus on 2028 receiver Madoxx Davis, and watched quarterback commit Israel Abrams climb the recruiting rankings. For a program trying to turn local relationships into long-term payoff, those are the kinds of developments that can start to stack up quickly if the Hurricanes keep landing on the right lists. Miami Leads For Elite WR But Cal Still Has One Edge

The push for Eli Woodard has tightened into a three-way race, and Miami appears to be carrying the momentum heading into the final stretch. The four-star receiver is weighing the Hurricanes against Cal and UCLA, with a decision set for June 30 after his official visits, and the buzz around Coral Gables has only grown since his trip there.

Miamis appeal has been rooted in more than just recruiting heat. Woodard has come away impressed by the programs atmosphere and the way he connected with current commits, including cornerback Donte Wright Jr. and quarterback commit Israel Abrams, while Cal is still hanging around as a real threat in part because of a familiar face already headed to Berkeley. For Miami, the question now is whether that strong visit feel can hold up until Woodard makes it official. [Read more 🡒]
