The Miami Hurricanes are turning heads in the race to land five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales. This blue-chip prospect from Indianapolis is drawing serious interest from top programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, and Indiana. But Miami is making a strong case to be a frontrunner.
Sales has lined up official visits to all four schools, with Miami set for June 19. According to Steve Wiltfong, VP of Recruiting for On3/Rivals, the Hurricanes are a team to watch closely in this recruitment battle.
Wiltfong shared, "If I'm Alabama, Miami is the school that has me on alert." Sales had a standout visit to Coral Gables last fall and was back in South Florida for a 7v7 event in January. Expectations are high that he will return to Miami a couple more times before making his decision.
While Alabama might be seen as the team to beat, given their storied program, Indiana and Ohio State have both clinched recent CFP Championships. Sales’ proximity to Big Ten territory adds another layer of intrigue. Despite this, Miami, under the leadership of Mario Cristobal, is no stranger to intense recruiting battles and has a history of coming out on top.
Wiltfong added, "I wouldn't be surprised if the Hurricanes make a significant push for Monshun Sales. Alabama needs to be prepared for a strong challenge from 'The U,' and Indiana and Ohio State are also in the mix with their appealing programs."
The upcoming months promise to be action-packed for Miami’s recruiting efforts. With numerous top prospects expected to visit campus during the spring, the list of official visitors for late spring and early summer is rapidly expanding. Sales remains a key target, and his expected spring visit will be crucial in this recruitment saga.
