“The guy could give a rat’s, you know what, about all the outside noise,” Cristobal said. “I think that rubs off on his teammates. They’re cut from the same cloth, the same type of DNA.”
That DNA - a blend of toughness, focus, and quiet confidence - has helped reshape the identity of this Hurricanes team. And for Cristobal, who won national titles as a player with Miami in 1989 and 1991, this run is deeply personal.
“I couldn’t go to the grave without Miami being Miami again,” he said.
