Miami Hurricanes Secure Visit from Elite 2027 QB Prospect

Miami Hurricanes set their sights on four-star QB Israel Abrams, as the standout from Illinois plans a crucial visit following their offer.

Rising Star QB Israel Abrams Eyes Miami Visit

Israel Abrams, the standout quarterback from Montini Catholic in Illinois, is gearing up for a significant visit to Coral Gables this March after receiving an offer from Miami. This talented four-star QB, ranked No. 45 nationally and No. 3 among quarterbacks in the 2027 class by Rivals, is certainly turning heads.

Abrams, who stands at an impressive 6-foot-4 and weighs in at around 185 to 190 pounds, is known for his dynamic play. He was named the 2025 Illinois Player of the Year after leading Montini to a perfect 14-0 season and an IHSA Class 4A state championship. His stats speak volumes: completing 233 of 340 passes for 4,072 yards, 40 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, while also rushing for 10 touchdowns.

Having taken the reins as Montini's starting QB during his sophomore year, Abrams has been instrumental in securing back-to-back state titles, including a 3A championship the previous year. His journey began with a transfer from St. Viator to Montini after his freshman season, and since then, he’s been a force on the field.

Abrams' schedule is packed with visits, including stops at Purdue, Auburn, Florida State, and Kentucky, showcasing his high demand. Miami, having relied on the transfer portal for quarterbacks in recent seasons, is keen to secure a commitment from a promising talent like Abrams. In the 2026 cycle, Dereon Coleman was the sole quarterback to commit to the Hurricanes, highlighting their need for fresh talent.

In addition to Abrams, four-star QB Wonderful Monds IV is also slated for a Miami visit in April. It will be interesting to see how these visits unfold and whether Abrams decides to make Miami his new home. The Hurricanes are certainly in the mix, and fans will be eager to see if Abrams is the future leader they’ve been searching for.
