Kesean Bowman, one of the most electric wide receiver prospects in the 2027 class, has trimmed his list of suitors to 10-and Miami is still firmly in the race. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound playmaker out of Brentwood Academy in Tennessee continues to command national attention, and for good reason. He’s ranked as a top-40 player overall, the No. 5 wideout in the country, and the No. 2 prospect in the state, according to both the Rivals Industry Ranking and the 247Sports Composite.
Bowman’s updated list includes some of college football’s biggest brands: Miami, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, LSU, Ohio State, USC, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Oregon. That last name is especially notable-Bowman had been committed to the Ducks since July before reopening his recruitment, signaling a shift in his process and a renewed openness to explore his options.
For Miami, staying in the mix here is no small feat. The Hurricanes were early to the party in Bowman’s recruitment, and that early relationship-building is starting to pay dividends.
He visited Coral Gables unofficially in late October for Miami’s home matchup against Stanford, and the staff has kept steady contact ever since. In a recruiting landscape where timing and trust matter as much as tradition and trophies, Miami’s consistency could be a difference-maker.
Bowman also singled out six programs that are currently standing out: Miami, Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Texas, and Oregon. That’s elite company, but it also shows the kind of recruiting battle this will be down the stretch.
Tennessee, in particular, has been generating serious momentum. As the in-state power, the Vols have hosted Bowman multiple times this fall and are pushing hard to keep the Nashville native close to home.
Alabama and Texas have also had him on campus recently, and both programs know how to close with top-tier talent. Ohio State remains in the picture as well, a perennial powerhouse when it comes to developing NFL-ready wideouts.
Bowman’s sophomore season numbers back up the hype: 56 catches, 1,023 yards, and eight touchdowns for Brentwood Academy-one of Tennessee’s top high school programs. He’s not just a name on a rankings list; he’s producing against high-level competition and flashing the kind of big-play ability that translates to Saturdays in the fall.
For Miami, landing Bowman would be a huge statement in a 2027 cycle that’s already heating up. The Canes have done a solid job stacking wide receiver talent in recent classes, and keeping the pipeline flowing with a player of Bowman’s caliber would further solidify their offensive future.
The road ahead in Bowman’s recruitment is still winding, but Miami is in the thick of it-and that’s exactly where they want to be.
