Miami's grip on Ah'Mari Stevens, one of South Florida's standout playmakers, is being seriously tested. The 4-star wide receiver, a Class of 2027 prospect, has been committed to the Hurricanes since January 2025. However, with Georgia making a strong push, Stevens finds himself in "flip watch" territory.
Stevens is set to visit Georgia officially on June 5, adding to a lineup of visits that includes LSU on April 18, Miami on May 29, and Texas on June 19. With a 247Sports rating of 90, Stevens ranks in the national top 300, marking him as one of Florida's top receivers for the 2027 class.
During his sophomore year, Stevens recorded 44 catches for 550 yards and eight touchdowns, contributing to a state-title run at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale. He then transferred to Chaminade-Madonna for his junior season after initially considering Miami Edison.
Miami's edge has long been its close relationship and proximity to Stevens. His connection to the Hurricanes is deeply rooted, with receivers coach Kevin Beard playing a pivotal role in his initial commitment. Beard's early interest in Stevens helped solidify this bond.
As summer approaches, Texas, Georgia, and LSU will aim to forge relationships as compelling as Miami's. Despite the strong ties to the Hurricanes, the unpredictable nature of college football recruiting means Miami will need to stay vigilant as Stevens explores his options.
