Greg Rousseau Just Delivered Another Massive Moment For The Bills

Greg Rousseau delivers a standout defensive play in overtime, paving the way for Buffalo's narrow victory against the Rams.

Greg Rousseau came through in the biggest moment of Monday night, and the Miami Hurricanes product helped Buffalo survive in overtime.

With the Bills and Rams tied at 34, Los Angeles lined up Harrison Mevis for a 48-yard field goal that would have ended it. Rousseau got a hand on the kick and blocked it, keeping Buffalo alive. On the next drive, Tyler Bass drilled a 45-yard field goal with 1:55 left in overtime to give the Bills a 37-34 win over the Rams.

The block was Buffalo’s first since Oct. 13, 2025, and that one was also by Rousseau. It also delivered Josh Allen his first career overtime victory after seven straight losses.

Through five games, Rousseau has put together a strong start to the season: six sacks, which is tied for second in the league, three forced fumbles, tied for the league lead, 35 pressures and 14 quarterback hits. He opened with two sacks in each of the first three weeks before a quieter game against New England and then the game-saving play Monday night.

Miami’s NFL Week 5 crop had plenty of other action, starting with Cam Ward in Tennessee. The Titans rookie quarterback went 23 of 36 for 170 yards and an interception in a 26-3 loss to Houston.

Over five games, the No. 1 overall pick in 2025 has completed 63.2% of his passes for 896 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing for 59 yards and two scores. Tennessee is still 0-5, and Ward continues to face heavy postgame scrutiny from the local media.

Francis Mauigoa has been a fixture up front for the Giants, starting every game at right guard. The rookie has logged 347 snaps, but his early NFL grading has been uneven, with a 48.4 overall PFF grade, a 43.4 pass-blocking grade and 11 pressures allowed. The talent that made him the No. 10 overall pick is still there, but he’s clearly in the middle of the adjustment phase.

Kamren Kinchens returned from a hamstring injury and got back into the mix for the Rams, finishing Monday’s loss to Buffalo with six tackles. Through limited action, he’s up to 21 tackles and a half-sack. One of those tackles was a hustle play that kept Los Angeles alive in overtime, and if the Rams had finished the job, he would have been one of the key reasons why.

Elsewhere, Patriots kicker Andy Borregales had a clean day in New England’s 45-17 win over Las Vegas, converting his only field goal try and all six extra points. On the season, he’s 6-for-8 on field goals, including a 50-yarder, and perfect on extra points.

Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson left Sunday’s loss to Green Bay with a hamstring injury after making two tackles. Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell is still adding to a remarkable career in his 19th season, with nine tackles through five games after returning to Baltimore. Campbell recently set the NFL record for most games played by a defensive lineman at 283.

Seahawks tight end Elijah Arroyo has one catch for 17 yards through five games as a backup behind AJ Barner. Panthers edge rusher Jaelan Phillips is working his way back from a hamstring injury suffered in Week 4 and is hoping to return after Carolina’s bye.

He has two sacks and eight tackles in four games. Buccaneers rookie edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. has also been dealing with a groin issue, though he did return for Tampa Bay’s Week 5 win.

Darian Mensah Is Keeping Miami In A Huge 2027 Draft Conversation

Following Week 6 of the college football season, the 2027 quarterback picture is starting to sharpen, and Miami fans have reason to keep an eye on it. Updated rankings have begun sorting out the early mix of top passers, with Dante Moore still sidelined by concussion issues, CJ Carr drawing praise for his work at Notre Dame, and Arch Manning taking a hit after a rough outing against Oklahoma.

Darian Mensah is part of that broader conversation, a sign that the Hurricanes are tracking more than just their own depth chart when it comes to future quarterback buzz. He is listed alongside other rising names such as Julian Sayin, Drew Mestemaker, Trinidad Chambliss, Jayden Maiava and LaNorris Sellers, and the larger takeaway for Miami is simple: the quarterback market for that draft class is already taking shape, even if plenty of the final order is still there to be decided. Miami Fans Have One Clear Issue With This ACC Ranking

Miamis place in the ACC preseason poll came with plenty to unpack, but the part that stood out most for Hurricanes fans was the gap between perception and roster momentum. The league picked the Hurricanes fourth for the 2026-27 college basketball season, slotting them behind Duke, Virginia and Louisville even after Jai Lucas went to work reshaping the roster with a heavy dose of talent and depth.

Duke finished first with 861 points and 45 first-place votes, a nod to both its returning core and another wave of five-star recruits, but Miami has reasons to feel it belongs in that same conversation. Lucas has already landed highly rated prospects Shelton Henderson and Caleb Gaskins, while also bringing in eight transfers, and that mix gives the Hurricanes a different kind of buzz than a preseason ranking can fully capture. Miami Secondary Suddenly Has An FSU Twist Fans Should Notice

Miamis defense has been forced to adapt on the fly as injuries have thinned the secondary, but the Hurricanes have also found some silver linings in the process. Safety Zechariah Poyser has pointed to the value of cross-training, and that kind of flexibility has started to show in the way depth players are getting real game experience and settling into larger roles.

Rynn Mack and Dylan Day have emerged as new contributors, giving Miami more options as it prepares for the next stretch of games. With Xavier Lucas and Damari Brown back in the mix, the Hurricanes are expecting to lean into more varied defensive packages, a sign that this group may look a little different than it did a few weeks ago.
