Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are keeping Stephen Curry in the game plan, despite his ongoing battle with patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee. Coach Steve Kerr made it clear that they're not sidelining their star guard for the long haul. During a chat on 95.7 The Game, Kerr emphasized that Curry's health is the priority, but as soon as he's ready, he'll be back on the court.
Kerr stated, "We’re not going to do anything silly. We are protecting him.
But as soon as he’s healthy, he’s going to play. That’s what this is about.
We have lots to play for. We’re right in the mix in the playoffs.”
While Curry is expected to sit out for at least another week, Kerr reassured fans that this is purely about managing the injury, with no long-term risk involved.
Heat
Tyler Herro made a triumphant return for the Miami Heat, hitting the ground running in their win over Atlanta. Herro, who had been sidelined for over a month with three fractured ribs, scored a game-high 24 points in just 23 minutes off the bench, all while wearing a protective flak jacket.
Coach Erik Spoelstra explained that Herro's reserve role is temporary, aimed at easing him back into action. “We’re just trying to get him out there,” Spoelstra noted.
“I’m not putting anything in cement. We’re just going to try to maximize these next 25 games.”
Herro himself is focused on consistency, saying, “I just want to stack some healthy games together. That’s all that’s on my mind.”
Timberwolves
The NBA has upheld the flagrant foul call against Rudy Gobert, leading to a one-game suspension for the Timberwolves' big man. Gobert was hit with a flagrant foul one for contact to Marvin Bagley’s neck area during Friday's game against Dallas. This adds to his tally, triggering an automatic suspension due to his six prior flagrant points.
This marks Gobert’s second suspension of the season, and any further flagrant fouls will now result in a two-game suspension. His count will reset for the playoffs unless he incurs another flagrant in the final two regular-season games. On Friday, Gobert delivered a strong performance with 22 points, 17 rebounds, and three blocks, but he’ll be watching from the sidelines for the next game.
