Magic Update
Magic fans, there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Forward Franz Wagner, who’s been sidelined with a nagging left high ankle sprain, is making strides toward a comeback.
After missing 20 consecutive games and only appearing four times since early December, Wagner's back in practice. He even took part in a brief stint with Osceola in the G League, where he managed to engage in contact drills.
With just nine games left in the season, the clock is ticking. However, head coach Jamahl Mosley remains optimistic and flexible, stating, “If he’s available, he’s playing.” It’s clear the Magic are eager to have Wagner's dynamic presence back on the court.
Meanwhile, Anthony Black and Jonathan Isaac are still on the mend, though they’ve started some light on-court activities. Their progress is something to keep an eye on as the season winds down.
Heat Insight
In Miami, head coach Erik Spoelstra’s recent lineup change paid off in a big way. The Heat snapped their five-game losing streak with a crucial road victory over the Cavaliers.
The key move? Shifting Pelle Larsson to the bench and starting Davion Mitchell, Tyler Herro, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, and Bam Adebayo.
Spoelstra downplayed the decision, saying, “There really wasn’t a lot of thought to it. Now we have finally everybody available.”
Despite coming off the bench, Larsson still played over 34 minutes, underscoring his importance to the team. Spoelstra summed it up perfectly: “Pelle is undeniable.
You can’t take him off the floor.”
Nuggets Highlight
Over in Denver, the Nuggets delivered a historic performance that left fans buzzing. Jamal Murray lit up the scoreboard with a season-high 53 points. Not to be outdone, Nikola Jokic put up an astonishing 23 points, 21 rebounds, and 19 assists.
This incredible feat marks the first time in NBA history that a team has had a player score 50 points and another achieve a 15-15-15 line in the same game. It’s a testament to the unique synergy and talent that Murray and Jokic bring to the Nuggets. If they keep this up, Denver is poised to make some serious noise in the league.
