Giannis Antetokounmpo has made his latest off-court move in South Florida, paying $13.5 million for a newly finished mansion in Pinecrest, a Miami-area neighborhood that has long attracted Heat players and other athletes.
The home covers about 12,000 square feet and sits on a little more than an acre west of Gables by the Sea and north of Deering Bay. The listing describes it as a non-waterfront property with eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, a media room, a pool and Jacuzzi, and a guest house. Ignacio Permuy of Permuy Architecture, based in Coral Gables, handled the design.
Property records show that a company tied to the Greek star made the purchase. Antetokounmpo bought the Pinecrest house through a company connected to his New York lawyers that shares the name of one of his other businesses. A company led by Fouad Kraishan was the seller, with Juan Annicchiarico of JCAS Realty representing that side of the deal.
The asking price was $16.3 million, which means Antetokounmpo landed the place for $2.8 million less than list.
His arrival in Miami comes after a blockbuster trade this summer that also involved Bobby Portis. In the deal, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis went to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Antetokounmpo and Portis.
Antetokounmpo’s purchase fits a broader pattern for his family office, which has spent more than $69 million on multifamily properties in Wisconsin, Brooklyn and Chicago over the past year, according to CoStar’s initial report.
Pinecrest and nearby areas such as South Miami have been magnets for athletes and celebrities for years, thanks in part to larger lots and the privacy they provide, along with access to private schools.
That neighborhood pull has shown up again and again around the Heat. On the day his trade was completed in July, Tyler Herro listed his Pinecrest mansion across the street from Antetokounmpo’s for almost $12 million.
Herro bought that property for $10.5 million in late 2022. Jeff Green sold his Pinecrest mansion at 9500 Southwest 61st Court for $15.5 million in April, while Jimmy Butler sold his 6,148-square-foot, six-bedroom home near Coral Gables and South Miami for $8.3 million two years ago.
Dion Waiters also sold his Pinecrest house in the same year.
For Antetokounmpo, the move places him firmly inside one of South Florida’s most exclusive pockets as he prepares for his first season in Miami.
