Maxx Crosby's journey with the Las Vegas Raiders has taken another twist, and it seems we're far from the final chapter. The defensive powerhouse was on the brink of joining the Baltimore Ravens, who were ready to part with two first-round picks to bring him on board.
However, a health concern put the brakes on that deal, sending Crosby back to the Raiders and the Ravens reclaiming their picks. Instead, Baltimore has shifted their focus to Trey Hendrickson as the new anchor for their defense.
But don’t count out the possibility of another team making a play for Crosby. The Buffalo Bills, who had previously shown interest in the five-time Pro Bowler, could re-enter the fray.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Raiders’ recent offseason moves and coaching changes have persuaded Crosby to stay put for the 2026 season. The anticipated arrival of quarterback Fernando Mendoza only heightens the expectations for the Raiders.
Yet, as noted by SI’s Albert Breer, if the Raiders’ rebuilding efforts don’t pan out as planned, trading Crosby might be back on the table. Breer mentioned on The MMQB NFL Podcast that for a trade to happen, Crosby would need to return to the field and perform at a high level to erase any lingering doubts from recent events.
The Bills had initially offered a low first-round pick, but the Raiders opted for the Ravens' more enticing proposal. Should Buffalo decide to pursue Crosby again, they’ll need to come prepared with substantial draft assets. As the situation develops, all eyes will be on Crosby and the Raiders to see how this saga unfolds.
