Dolphins Linked To Surprise WR After Star Departures

In a bold reimagining of their offensive strategy, the Miami Dolphins are eyeing Ohio States Carnell Tate to bolster their receiving corps following high-profile departures.

The Miami Dolphins have made a bold move by signing Malik Willis as their new quarterback. However, with Jaylen Waddle traded and Tyreek Hill released, Willis finds himself without the star-studded receiving corps that Miami fans have grown accustomed to.

But don't worry, Dolphins faithful, help is likely on the way. With two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, Miami is poised to strengthen its offense.

ESPN's draft guru, Mel Kiper Jr., has projected that the Dolphins will snag Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate with the 11th pick. Kiper notes that Tate's exceptional route running, reliable hands, and impressive range make him a prime candidate to become Willis's go-to target.

Tate's college career at Ohio State was nothing short of stellar. Over three seasons, he played in 39 games, snagged 121 passes for 1,872 yards, and scored 14 touchdowns. His final year was particularly impressive, with 51 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns, contributing to a national championship win in 2024.

Currently, the Dolphins' receiving lineup includes Malik Washington, Tutu Atwell, and Jalen Tolbert. While each has shown flashes of potential, none have yet emerged as a top-tier WR1 in the league.

The incoming wide receiver, whether it be Tate or another draftee, will face high expectations but also a golden opportunity. They’ll need to step up as a primary pass catcher in an offense that will likely see plenty of action. If all goes according to plan, Miami's new addition could be the key to unlocking the full potential of their revamped offense.
