Malik Willis has certainly turned heads since his move to the Green Bay Packers in 2024. With a record of 2-1 as a starter and an impressive six touchdowns without a single interception, he's become a hot topic in the 2026 offseason quarterback market.
The Miami Dolphins have emerged as a strong contender for Willis, particularly with his former defensive coordinator, Jeff Hafley, now leading the team. Yet, Dolphins' General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is well aware of the competition.
Speaking before the scouting combine, Sullivan noted, "Any team in need of a quarterback would be remiss not to consider Malik Willis. We've explored numerous options, and Malik is certainly on our radar."
But the Dolphins aren't the only ones eyeing Willis. The Cleveland Browns have also surfaced as a potential landing spot. According to insider Zac Jackson from The Athletic, the Browns are keen on making Willis their primary target.
On "The Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show," Jackson shared, “The plan seems to be to secure Malik Willis. If that doesn't pan out, they might look at trading for Anthony Richardson or exploring other options.
What’s clear is that the competition won’t just be Shedeur vs. Deshaun.
It’s either Malik Willis taking the lead, or a broader competition unfolds.”
Jackson emphasized that while Willis' destination remains uncertain, the Browns are certainly in the mix. If they miss out, they'll pivot to Plan B, ensuring a competitive quarterback room.
With the new league year kicking off on March 11, the anticipation around Malik Willis' next move continues to build.
