Memphis Gets A Rare National Showcase Before A Big Thursday Night

Get ready for an exciting day at Tiger Lane as ESPN's 'SportsCenter on Campus' sets the stage for the Memphis vs. East Carolina showdown, complete with special events honoring breast cancer awareness and healthcare heroes.

ESPN’s “SportsCenter on Campus” is headed to Memphis on Thursday, Oct. 22, setting up on Tiger Lane before the Tigers’ game against East Carolina.

The live show will run from 4-4:30 p.m. CT, with host Matt Barrie joined by Chase Daniel.

Memphis and East Carolina are scheduled to kick off later that night at 6:30 p.m. CT, and fans and students are encouraged to stop by and watch the broadcast after Tiger Walk.

The visit comes as Memphis and East Carolina meet in a nationally televised American Conference matchup on ESPN2 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. ESPN’s flagship college-football edition of “SportsCenter on Campus” airs from the site of that week’s Thursday night game, bringing the spotlight to the campus atmosphere and the storylines around the matchup.

Thursday’s game also carries a familiar off-field theme for Memphis. It marks the third straight year the University of Memphis has partnered with the DeAngelo Williams Foundation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and Health Care Appreciation. The school says the game will honor “the strength, courage and resilience of those who have battled or are continuing to battle breast cancer,” while also recognizing “the dedicated healthcare professionals who stand on the front lines giving care and support every day.”

Game day on Tiger Lane will get going early. Parking lots open at noon, and the Pouncer’s Pals Kids Zone opens at 3:30 p.m. The area will feature yard games, inflatables and more, giving fans plenty to do before kickoff.

Single-game tickets are available online or through the Memphis Ticket Office at (901) 678-2331. Group tickets and experiences are also available by contacting the ticket office.
