Marshall Manning is only 15, but college football programs are already treating the Baylor School freshman like a name worth tracking.
The son of Peyton Manning has reportedly picked up multiple scholarship offers, with Miami and Ohio State among the schools that have shown interest. That early attention puts him on a fast track that few high school quarterbacks ever get, even before they’ve settled into their own varsity role.
Marshall is currently a backup quarterback at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and he made his varsity debut in August against Brentwood Academy. He entered behind starting quarterback and Ole Miss commit Keegan Croucher and completed his first varsity snap by finding receiver Antwaun Adams for an eight-yard gain and a first down.
The Manning connection is impossible to miss. Marshall wears No. 16, the same number Peyton used at Tennessee before switching to No. 18 after being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts and keeping it through his years with the Denver Broncos.
The spotlight on Marshall comes with the family name, but it also adds another layer to the Manning quarterback lineage. His cousin, Arch Manning, is already the starter for the Texas Longhorns, while his father is a Hall of Fame quarterback and his uncle Eli Manning built a decorated NFL career of his own, including two Super Bowl wins.
With two years of high school football still ahead, Marshall’s recruitment is just getting started. But he’s already drawing the kind of attention that keeps the next chapter of football’s most famous family firmly in the spotlight.
