The Minnesota Timberwolves are rolling - and Saturday night in Memphis, they kept the momentum going with a commanding 131-114 win over the Grizzlies, their fourth straight double-digit victory.
Anthony Edwards led the charge with 33 points, showing once again why he’s the heartbeat of this Timberwolves squad. Whether it was slicing through the lane or pulling up from deep, Edwards had the Grizzlies on their heels all night. Julius Randle added 27 points and seven assists, continuing to settle into his role as a versatile offensive weapon in Minnesota’s system.
This win came just two nights after the Timberwolves dismantled the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, a game that turned heads around the league. Saturday’s performance only reinforced the message: Minnesota is not just hot - they’re playing with purpose, rhythm, and a growing sense of identity.
Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels each chipped in 20 points, with Reid also pulling down nine rebounds. Rudy Gobert anchored the paint as usual, grabbing 16 boards and swatting away two shots, making life difficult for Memphis in the lane.
On the Grizzlies' side, there were a few bright spots despite the loss. Ty Jerome made his season debut after recovering from a calf strain and led the team with 20 points and six assists. GG Jackson added 19, and Jaylen Wells contributed 15, but it wasn’t enough to snap Memphis’ now six-game skid.
The Grizzlies were once again short-handed, missing seven rotation players - including star guard Ja Morant, whose name has surfaced in trade rumors ahead of Thursday’s deadline. The absence of firepower was most evident early, as Memphis started the game ice-cold from beyond the arc, hitting just one of their first 18 three-point attempts.
Minnesota took full advantage. After leading 58-49 at the half, the Timberwolves came out firing in the third quarter, hitting 12 of their first 16 shots to stretch the lead to 92-73.
By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, they were up 97-79 and never looked back. The lead ballooned to 22 with under four minutes to play, and from there, it was cruise control.
The two teams will run it back Monday night in Memphis, and if the Timberwolves keep playing like this - with balanced scoring, defensive intensity, and a swagger that’s starting to feel very real - they’ll be tough to stop.
