The Memphis Grizzlies’ 2026-27 schedule is out, and the calendar is already dotted with a few dates fans will circle immediately.
The biggest one comes on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027, when Ja Morant returns to Memphis as an opponent for the first time. That game is set for 4:30 p.m.
CT on Prime and is one of just two national TV games on the Grizzlies’ slate. Portland will remain in Memphis for another game at FedExForum on Monday, Feb.
Memphis opens the season at home on Wednesday, Oct. 21 against the Utah Jazz, launching Cameron Boozer’s rookie year and the first season of a new era for the Grizzlies. That opener also brings a notable reunion, as it will be the first time Jaren Jackson Jr. faces the Grizzlies since being traded last season. Utah’s No. 2 pick, Darryn Peterson, will make his NBA debut in that game as well.
The Grizzlies also get a home game on Martin Luther King Jr. Day this season, something they did not have last year.
Memphis will host the Houston Rockets on Monday, Jan. 18, 2027, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
That matchup is part of an NBC Sports quadrupleheader, with the night beginning in Detroit and continuing through Atlanta, New York and Memphis. It will also be the Grizzlies’ first national TV game of the season, airing on Peacock.
Another date that stands out is Wednesday, Feb. 3, when the Philadelphia 76ers come to Memphis. That will be LeBron James’ only game in Memphis this season, and the source notes it could be his last. It also arrives after James’ comments toward the city while playing golf last season, which made this one feel like a game fans in Memphis will have waiting on the calendar.
Memphis’ four NBA Cup group stage games are set for Nov. 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Nov. 13 against the New Orleans Pelicans, Nov. 25 against the Los Angeles Clippers and Nov. 27 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Thunder and Clippers games will be at home, while the Pelicans and Timberwolves matchups are on the road.
The Grizzlies’ longest homestand is a franchise-record eight-game stretch from Feb. 3 through Feb. 18, carrying them into All-Star weekend. It starts with the 76ers game and ends against the Boston Celtics.
Every game in that run will tip at 7 p.m. CT except the first Portland game, which is set for 4:30.
Memphis will also play 13 back-to-backs this season, one fewer than last year’s 14. The first comes during an early four-game West Coast trip from Oct. 23 through Oct. 29, with games at Sacramento on Oct. 25 and at Utah on Oct.
- The final back-to-back lands late in the season on April 6 and April 7, when the Grizzlies host the Detroit Pistons and then the Washington Wizards.
