The Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic are set for a preseason meeting Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7:00 p.m. CST at FedExForum in Memphis.
Memphis has had the upper hand in the regular season over Orlando, going 32-27 all-time against the Magic. The Grizzlies have been especially tough at home, where they’re 22-8 against Orlando, compared with 10-19 on the road. Last season, the two teams split their season series.
Radio coverage will be available on 92.9 FM ESPN Radio in Memphis, 96.9 FM The Game, and the Magic Radio Network in Orlando.
As for Memphis guard Ty Jerome, he said the Grizzlies settled in after a shaky opening in their preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks.
"After the first few minutes we started playing with much better pace. Getting some stops helped us so we could get out and run a little more. We did a good job of playing fast, finding the matchups we like, spread the ball, everyone got some shots, we looked all right."
Jerome also pointed to the team’s push to play quicker without rushing.
"We want to try to get down the court fast. That doesn't mean force a fast shot, but you know, you see what you like and then play different actions as fast as possible too."
He added that the approach was a major part of camp and said Memphis still has clean-up work ahead.
"That was an emphasis of training camp, run the floor, getting up and down, everyone being aggressive but trying to get good shots and taking care of the ball. We had some sloppy possessions here and there, myself included, and I think we'll fix that as we keep going."

Grizzlies Already Have An Injury Concern They Really Didn't Need
The Grizzlies were hoping to use the preseason to get a cleaner look at their frontcourt mix, but the early returns have already brought a familiar kind of unease. Isaiah Stewarts first game in a Memphis uniform ended almost as soon as it began against Atlanta, and Zach Edey remained sidelined as he continues recovering from ankle and elbow surgeries, leaving the club short on the size it wants to evaluate before the games start to count.
For a team that has spent recent seasons navigating one injury hit after another, including a record number of man-games lost last year, any new setback carries extra weight. Stewarts status is still being sorted out, and his absence for the next home preseason game against Orlando only adds to the sense that Memphis is once again trying to build continuity while the roster is already being tested. Zach Edey Faces The Season That Could Shape Memphis Future
Zach Edey has already shown why Memphis views him as such an important part of its long-term plan. When he has been on the court, the young big man has been highly impactful, giving the Grizzlies a glimpse of the kind of interior presence that can matter in a rebuild. The challenge, as it has been throughout his early career, is getting enough uninterrupted time to make that promise real.
Memphis is planning for Edey to be ready when the regular season begins, with his availability and production carrying real weight beyond just this years rotation. The Grizzlies also have a bigger benchmark in mind, since his path to award eligibility depends on reaching 65 games, and another injury would only make the teams future contract decisions more complicated.
