The Grizzlies kept busy with their 21st roster spot on Saturday, cycling through a string of additions and waives before landing on former lottery pick Kira Lewis Jr.
Memphis first moved on from Brendan Hausen, who had been signed Friday after D’Angelo Russell was waived, then opened the door for former Warriors guard Yuri Collins. Collins didn’t stick either, as the Grizzlies waived him to make room for former Villanova standout Eric Dixon. Dixon was then released so Memphis could add Lewis.
Lewis, 25, gives the Grizzlies another name with NBA experience. He played for the Pelicans, Raptors and Jazz from 2021-25, then spent last season in the NBAGL with the Wisconsin Herd. In 40 games there, he put up 11.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting .452/.304/.919 in 26.3 minutes per game.
Hausen entered the league as an undrafted rookie in June after finishing his four-year run at Iowa. Collins spent last season in Israel and the G League. Dixon, also undrafted, played his first pro season in the NBAGL with the Greensboro Swarm and Memphis Hustle.
All four players - Hausen, Collins, Dixon and Lewis - likely signed Exhibit 10 deals. That would make them eligible for a bonus of up to $91K if they spend at least 60 days with the G League’s Memphis Hustle in 2026/27.
The Bulls also made a smaller training camp move, signing Marquel Sutton to a camp deal, according to RealGM.
Sutton is a 6-foot-7 forward who went undrafted a few months ago. Last season at LSU, he averaged 13.1 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting .457/.303/.824 across 32 starts and 31.3 minutes per game.
