The Big Ten has laid out Maryland’s 2026-27 men’s basketball road map, and the Terps will waste no time getting into the league grind. Conference play opens Sunday, Dec. 6 at Ohio State, followed by the first Big Ten home game three days later against Michigan State on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
From there, the home slate brings a steady run of heavyweight visits to College Park. UCLA comes in on Saturday, Jan.
2, USC on Tuesday, Jan. 5, Illinois on Saturday, Jan.
16, Rutgers on Tuesday, Jan. 19, Wisconsin on Tuesday, Jan.
26, Nebraska on Tuesday, Feb. 9, Indiana on Saturday, Feb.

On the road, Maryland’s January stretch includes trips to Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 9 and Indiana on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

30, Michigan State on Tuesday, Feb. 2, Oregon on Wednesday, Feb.

Before the official season begins, Maryland will tune up with two exhibition games. The Terps face former ACC foe Georgia Tech on Sunday, October 11 at 4:30 PM at UMBC’s Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena, then host West Virginia on Sunday, October 18 at XFINITY Center.
The regular season starts Monday, Nov. 2 against Bucknell. The non-conference schedule also features Georgetown on Saturday, Nov.
7, Virginia on Friday, Nov. 13, Tennessee and either Iowa State or San Diego State in the Las Vegas Players Era Championship Tournament during Thanksgiving Week, and South Carolina in Baltimore on Saturday, Dec. 19 at CFG Bank Arena.
Other home non-conference games include Alcorn State on Nov. 16, Wagner on Nov.
20, American on Dec. 2, Morgan State on Dec. 15, and Radford on Dec.
The 30th Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament is set for March 9-14, 2027, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Maryland’s games will air on the Maryland Sports Radio Network with Johnny Holliday, Chris Knoche, and Walt Williams on the call.
The 2026-27 season will also include a year-long celebration of the 25th anniversary of Maryland’s 2002 NCAA National Championship, presented by Northrop Realty. Home games throughout the season will feature special promotions, giveaways, player appearances and autograph sessions, and more to mark the milestone.

Milford Mill Academy is back in the Maryland Media State Poll Top 25, and it did not sneak in quietly.
