Maryland men’s basketball is giving fans an early look at its new group.
The Terps have added an exhibition game against West Virginia on Sunday, Oct. 18 at Xfinity Center, and fans are expected to be in attendance. That’s a change from the program’s usual approach, since Maryland has previously used “secret” closed scrimmages before the season. This time, the public gets a peek roughly two weeks before the regular season opener against Bucknell.
Maryland also unveiled its full non-conference schedule for 2026-27, and the only matchup that hadn’t already been reported is a Dec. 15 meeting with Morgan State. The Terps have won six of the seven games in the series, with the lone loss coming by one point at home on Jan. 7, 2009.
Maryland’s non-conference slate is set to open Nov. 2 against Bucknell, followed by a Nov. 7 trip to Georgetown and a Nov. 13 home game against Virginia. The rest of the schedule includes Alcorn State on Nov.
16, Wagner on Nov. 20, Tennessee on Nov. 24 in the Players Era, San Diego St/Iowa St on Nov. 26 in the Players Era, American University on Dec.
2, South Carolina on Dec. 19 in Baltimore and Radford on Dec. 29.
