No. 23 Texas A&M is heading into Baton Rouge already carrying some early-season baggage, and the timing couldn’t be much less forgiving.
After last week’s 31-21 loss to Kentucky at Kyle Field, the Aggies are trying to keep their College Football Playoff hopes from slipping further away as they open their first road trip of the year against No. 10 LSU.
LSU is dealing with its own frustration. Lane Kiffin’s Tigers come in off a 32-24 loss in Oxford, where they fell to Kiffin’s old kroonies from Ole Miss. That sets up a matchup between two SEC teams both looking to steady themselves after last week’s setback.
Texas A&M has had the upper hand in the series lately, winning the last two meetings. But this one brings a different test. The Aggies have looked shaky this early in the season, and now they have to prove they can carry that recent success on the road against LSU.
