Kirk Herbstreit didn’t have to look far for his pick for Week 4’s marquee matchup.
After calling Ole Miss’ 32-24 win over LSU in Week 3, Herbstreit pointed to the Rebels’ trip to Florida as the “game of the weekend” as they head into another major SEC test. Ole Miss just handled one heavyweight, but there’s no easing into the next one. The Rebels now have to go on the road to face an undefeated Florida team that has impressed under first-year coach Jon Sumrall.
“This is life in the SEC,” Herbstreit said on the Pat McAfee Show. “People can say whatever they want; the reality is, Ole Miss played in the game of a lifetime, and now, they have a bigger game this week and a more challenging game this week going to ‘The Swamp’.
Florida is playing out of their mind. They’re putting up points that would make Steve Spurrier proud.”
Herbstreit also added, "Ole Miss gets a massive win against LSU and now they're going to The Swamp..

Florida has plenty of firepower to make that trip uncomfortable. Running back Jadan Baugh has been one of the best backs in the country, and the Gators’ receiver group of Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown III gives them another dangerous layer.
Ole Miss already proved last week that it can walk into a big moment and stay composed. Pete Golding had his team ready for LSU, and that same steadiness will be needed again in Week 4 if the Rebels want to leave The Swamp with another statement win.

Texas A&Ms 2028 class is still in its earliest stages, but the biggest name attached to it is already drawing plenty of attention. Five-star quarterback Donald Tabron III committed early after building a relationship with the coaching staff, and he remains in the middle of the recruiting process as LSU continues to circle.
For LSU, the appeal is obvious. LSU Secondary Concern Just Grew Ahead Of Texas A&M
LSUs secondary is entering the Texas A&M week with a thinner margin for error than usual, and the first injury report only sharpened the concern. Safety Tamarcus Cooley is listed as questionable, while cornerback JaKeem Jackson is doubtful, adding uncertainty to a defensive backfield that needs as much stability as it can get heading into a key conference matchup.
The availability picture does not stop there, either. Tight end TreyDez Green, safety Dashawn Spears and receiver Phillip Wright are all listed as out, with Spears reportedly done for the season after a torn ACL and Wright confirmed by coach Lane Kiffin as out for the year. The caveat, of course, is that these reports can shift before kickoff, as LSU has already seen with quarterback Sam Leavitts previous designation, but for now the Tigers are managing a list that is already longer than they would prefer. LSU Fans Will Love Whos Coming Back For Texas A&M
A familiar face is headed back to Baton Rouge for one of LSUs biggest home dates of the fall. Freddy, the German traveler who picked up social media attention during his U.S. trip, said he will be at Tiger Stadium when LSU hosts Texas A&M on Sept. 26, giving Tigers fans another reason to circle the matchup.
Freddy was already on campus in June, taking in LSU and Tiger Stadium and sharing the experience with followers online. With the game set for a national ABC broadcast, his return adds another little bit of extra buzz to a night that already figures to draw plenty of attention. [Read more 🡒]
