Lane Kiffin and LSU aren’t leaving anything to chance when it comes to Jordan Seaton. The 5-star offensive lineman is one of the most coveted names in the transfer portal, and the Tigers are going all-in to bring him to Baton Rouge. Seaton spent multiple days on campus this week, and Kiffin even made a personal trip to Atlanta to keep the momentum going.
That kind of effort tells you everything you need to know about how badly LSU wants Seaton in purple and gold. But the road to landing him is far from clear.
Oregon head coach Dan Lanning also met with Seaton in Atlanta, and Miami (FL) remains in the mix. As of now, Seaton hasn’t made a final decision about where he’ll play in 2026, and the waiting game continues.
For LSU fans, this is starting to feel like a drawn-out saga. There’s anticipation, frustration, and a whole lot of refreshing social media feeds.
One Tiger fan summed up the mood perfectly with a GIF captioned, “I don’t even want Jordan Seaton anymore. Idc when an update comes, I’m over it.”
That’s the kind of emotional rollercoaster that comes with chasing a top-tier talent in the portal era.
So where does LSU actually stand? Earlier this week, recruiting insider Shea Dixon predicted Seaton would land in Baton Rouge.
But the fact that a commitment didn’t come during his multi-day visit has raised some eyebrows. Add in the Lanning meeting, and it’s understandable why LSU fans are feeling the pressure.
From a football standpoint, there’s no question Seaton would be a game-changer for the Tigers. LSU already boasts the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country, per 247Sports, and adding Seaton would elevate that group to another level.
The Tigers’ offensive line was a weak point in 2025, and it showed. The run game lacked consistency, and the offense as a whole never found its footing.
Kiffin has made moves to shore up the front line, but Seaton would be the crown jewel-arguably the biggest addition outside of quarterback Sam Leavitt.
Right now, it’s a waiting game. LSU has made its pitch, and the ball is in Seaton’s court. Until he makes a call, Tiger fans will continue to hold their breath, hoping that all the effort pays off with a commitment that could reshape the trenches in Baton Rouge.
