Good Morning, Tiger Fans!
Let's dive into the latest buzz around LSU sports with some exciting updates.
Men’s Basketball Recruiting Update
LSU has added a standout to its 2026 class with the signing of 22-year-old Australian guard Owen Foxwell. Standing at 6-foot-2, Foxwell brings professional experience from Australia’s top league, where he's averaged 11.1 points and 4.5 assists this season.
This move is part of LSU's ongoing efforts to reshape its roster under coach Matt McMahon. Foxwell joins a promising 2026 class alongside four-star recruits Kevin Thomas, Herly Brutus, and fellow Australian Marcus Vaughns.
Baseball Team’s Hot Streak
After a dominant performance at the Live Like Lou Jax College Classic, LSU baseball remains a powerhouse, holding the No. 1 spot in the Perfect Game poll and No. 2 in the D1Baseball and Baseball America rankings, just behind UCLA. Their five wins last week have pushed them to an impressive 8-0 start, the best under coach Jay Johnson since 2019.

Pitching Highlights
LSU's pitching staff shone last weekend, posting a 2.88 ERA over 25 innings. The starting rotation showed significant improvement, with Casan Evans, Cooper Moore, and William Schmidt each delivering solid five-inning performances.
Schmidt's outing was particularly impressive, earning him tournament MVP honors. He shut down UCF with three hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking just one.
Bullpen Brilliance
Deven Sheerin made waves out of the bullpen, overcoming a rocky start to strike out four in one and two-thirds innings against Notre Dame. His fastball, hitting up to 99.5 mph, and unique delivery make him a formidable force against right-handed hitters.
Offensive Standouts
Freshman Mason Braun turned heads with a .500 average in five games, including a crucial three-run homer against Kent State. Jake Brown, Zach Yorke, and Seth Dardar also had standout weeks, contributing significantly to LSU’s offensive firepower.
Softball Team in Action
The LSU softball team faces McNeese tonight at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The Tigers have dominated the series historically and aim to continue their winning streak against a competitive McNeese squad.
Recruiting News
Wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens, currently committed to Miami, has scheduled an official visit to LSU in April. Fellow wide receiver prospects Amare Patterson and Easton Royal are also set to visit LSU, adding excitement to the recruiting front.
Football Staff Addition
LSU has bolstered its defensive staff by adding DeAndre Williams, a former Tulane player with a strong coaching background, replacing Jermauria Rasco.
Track and Field Achievement
Congratulations to Lamar Brown, who secured the LHSAA Indoor Track & Field shot put championship with a throw of 55 feet, 11 inches. Brown, now weighing in at 291 pounds, is poised to make an impact on the defensive line this fall.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, Geaux Tigers!
