LSU might not be done reshaping its wide receiver room just yet. Andy Jean, a former four-star recruit, was on campus Thursday for an official visit, signaling he could be the next addition from the transfer portal.
Jean’s journey through college football has been anything but linear. Originally a member of Florida’s 2023 recruiting class, he saw limited action with the Gators, appearing in five games and recording six catches for 97 yards across two seasons. After a brief spring stint at Pitt in 2025, Jean transferred to Arkansas during the second transfer window.
His time with the Razorbacks was short but included some meaningful reps. Jean played in five games this past season, notching a 21-yard catch against Notre Dame. His final appearance came in a narrow 23-22 loss to LSU on November 15 - a game where he faced the very team he’s now considering joining.
Coming out of high school in Miami, Jean was a well-regarded prospect. Rivals’ Industry Rankings pegged him as a four-star recruit, ranking No. 61 among wide receivers nationally and No. 73 overall in the state of Florida. At 6-foot-1 and 189 pounds, he brings a solid frame and athletic upside that still holds intrigue despite a winding college path.
If Jean does commit to LSU, he’d become the tenth wide receiver the Tigers have added via the portal - a clear reflection of the emphasis head coach Lane Kiffin has placed on retooling the position group since taking over in Baton Rouge. Kiffin has made it no secret that he wants depth, versatility, and competition in the receiver room, and Jean could be another piece in that puzzle.
While Jean’s college production hasn’t matched the expectations that came with his high school ranking, the potential is still there. And in a system like Kiffin’s - fast-paced, aggressive, and built to get receivers open in space - a fresh start at LSU could be exactly what he needs to finally break through.
