LSU Making Strong Push for Four-Star WR Brayden Allen After Baton Rouge Visit
The recruiting landscape just got a little more interesting in Louisiana. Brayden Allen, a four-star wide receiver out of Lafayette, quietly made his way to Baton Rouge on Sunday night for a visit with LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff - and that visit may have shifted the momentum in a big way.
Allen, one of the top five wideouts in the state, had been verbally committed to Oklahoma since October 1, a decision that came after flipping from Tulane as his recruitment started to pick up serious steam. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound pass catcher initially stayed loyal to Tulane, but once the SEC came calling, things changed quickly. Oklahoma jumped in at the right time and secured his commitment - but now, that pledge is officially off the table.
The visit to LSU wasn’t just a casual stop. Allen got a full look at the program, spending time with current players and connecting with his host, wide receiver Elijah Thomas.
“My host was Elijah Thomas and that was pretty cool. We hung out for a while after the game and with the team,” Allen said.
“Their message was really just that I belong there in that environment and that I can go there and ball out but also come out a better man.”
That message seems to have landed. Allen is coming off a breakout junior season in 2024, where he posted 55 catches for 1,155 yards and 10 touchdowns - numbers that put him on the radar nationally and made him a priority for several major programs. As a senior, the attention only intensified, with SEC schools lining up to offer the Bayou State standout.
Now, LSU is making its move.
My recap from @Lane_Kiffin 's 1st day at Ops while I was there, obviously a lot more going on behind the scenes with recruits/coaches, but you can only do some much from the sidewalk.

With the Early Signing Period just weeks away, the Tigers are looking to round out their wide receiver group for the 2026 class. They already have two in the fold: Jabari Mack, a four-star from Destrehan and the No. 1 receiver in Louisiana, who’s been locked in with LSU since March, and Kenny Darby, another four-star from Bossier City.

Mack recently shut down his recruitment entirely, signaling he's all-in on LSU. That leaves one more spot - and Allen is clearly the top target.
The timing of Allen’s visit and his decommitment from Oklahoma are more than just coincidental. LSU’s staff has been aggressive down the stretch, and sources close to the situation believe the Tigers are now in prime position to land Allen before signing day.
If they pull it off, it would be a major in-state win for Kiffin in his first recruiting cycle in Baton Rouge - keeping elite Louisiana talent home and adding another dynamic playmaker to an already strong receiver class. Allen has the kind of skill set that fits perfectly in LSU’s offensive system: smooth route-running, reliable hands, and the ability to stretch the field. He's the kind of receiver who can make an impact early and often.
LSU fans should keep a close eye on this one. With Signing Day fast approaching, the Tigers are surging at the right time - and Brayden Allen might just be the next big name to join the fold.
