LSU Fans Have A Chance To Make Tiger Stadium History Vs Bama

LSU gears up to reclaim the title of loudest college football venue as they prepare for a high-stakes showdown against Alabama at Tiger Stadium.

LSU is aiming to make some noise Saturday - literally.

With No. 9 Alabama coming to Tiger Stadium at 2:30 p.m. on ABC, the Tigers will have a sound level meter on the field as they try to challenge the crowd-noise mark Tennessee says it set last month against the Crimson Tide in Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee’s claimed number from Oct. 17: 130.3 decibels.

That’s the kind of volume that lands somewhere between a jackhammer, an ambulance siren and a low-flying military jet.

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette said Tuesday the school will track the noise during the game, and coach Lane Kiffin made the goal plain Monday when he opened Alabama week.

“Let’s break the record,” LSU coach Lane Kiffin said Monday at his news conference to kick off Alabama week.

The Tigers have reason to believe Tiger Stadium can push into that territory. LSU likes to think of its home field as the loudest place in college football, and there was already a number floating around from this season’s opener against Clemson. ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe posted on X.com that she measured the crowd at 129.7 decibels that night.

There’s one catch: that was a night game. Saturday’s kickoff comes in the daytime, and Tiger Stadium is generally thought to be at its most ferocious after dark.

LSU will have more chances to chase the mark later this season, too. The Tigers’ Nov. 14 home game against Texas will either kick at 2:30 or 6:30 p.m. on ABC in their 2026 home finale.

And even if LSU tops Tennessee’s 130.3, the Volunteers get another swing at it Nov. 21 when they host the Tigers in their home finale. That game will be either an afternoon or night kickoff.

LSU Fans Have A New Reason To Worry About Blake Baker

Blake Bakers rise at LSU has already made him one of the more important assistants in the SEC, and now it has put him on the radar for a bigger opening. Florida State is searching for a new head coach after Mike Norvells firing, and Baker has emerged as a potential candidate thanks to his reputation for turning defenses around and his recruiting connections across the Southeast.

For LSU, the concern is obvious. Baker is the highest-paid assistant coach in college football, and he has already shown a willingness to stay put when other jobs came calling, turning down offers from Tulane and Memphis to remain in Baton Rouge. Still, a vacancy like Florida States can change the conversation quickly, and Baker is among a crowded field that also includes Manny Diaz, Eli Drinkwitz, Jake Dickert, Kenny Dillingham, Jason Eck, Glenn Schumann, Rhett Lashlee and Jimbo Fisher. Brian Kelly Weighs In On A Game LSU Fans Can't Ignore

Brian Kelly has been around enough big games to know when one can ripple beyond its own matchup, and he sees that kind of weight in Ole Miss upcoming SEC showdown with Georgia. The former Notre Dame and LSU coach pointed to the Rebels recent success against Georgia and the edge of playing at home as the main reasons he expects Ole Miss to come out on top.

For LSU fans, the prediction is worth noting because this is the kind of game that can reshape the SEC race and, with it, the College Football Playoff picture. Georgias margin for error is always slim in conference play, and Ole Miss has already shown it can make life uncomfortable for the Bulldogs, which is why Kellys take adds another layer of intrigue to a matchup Tigers fans will be watching closely. Whit Weeks Gives LSU Fans Real Hope Entering Alabama Week

The latest SEC injury report offered LSU a small but meaningful bit of optimism heading into Alabama week, with linebacker Whit Weeks moving up to doubtful. It is not a clean bill of health, but it does suggest progress for a defense that has been watching the availability of key pieces closely as the matchup with the Crimson Tide approaches.

Around him, the report still carried plenty of uncertainty, with several players from both teams listed out, doubtful or questionable. For LSU, Weeks remains the name to watch because of what his presence would mean in a rivalry game where every defensive snap matters, and the final answer on his status is still one of the bigger storylines left hanging before kickoff.
