Ole Miss beat LSU 32-24 in front of a record crowd at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and the night came with multiple run-ins involving security and law enforcement. One LSU fan was left bloodied after a physical struggle with cops and a security guard near the stands, and video of that confrontation quickly spread online.
Now there’s another angle of the same chaos, and it makes the scene look even more intense. The first clip showed the fan wrestling with security before officers stepped in, forcing him down and taking him into custody with a visible injury to his forehead.
The newer video zooms in on the scrum, with several officers surrounding the fan in the stands and working together to pin him down while spectators looked on from only a few rows away. The footage also shows just how forceful the restraint became.
That wasn’t the only ugly moment in Oxford. Another confrontation broke out in the concourse, where a security guard was hit in the face while trying to break up a separate fight between fans.
Lafayette County authorities said at least one arrest was made tied to the game’s disturbances. An 18-year-old was booked that night on charges including aggravated assault on a protected person, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. It’s still not clear whether that arrest came from the stands incident in the video, the concourse altercation, or another confrontation altogether, and local reports haven’t specified which incident led to the charges.
Ole Miss had warned fans before kickoff to expect a heavy security presence, pointing to the rivalry’s history and Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford as LSU’s head coach. Saturday’s scenes made it clear that warning wasn’t for nothing.
