LSU may get Noa Morro back on the floor a lot sooner than anyone expected.
After surgery in early September to repair a stress fracture in her shin, the assumption was that the senior post player might not make her Tigers debut until late November at the earliest. But Kim Mulkey said Monday that Morro could “possibly” return as soon as next week, a major shift after LSU opened the season with a record-setting win over Southeastern Louisiana.
Morro has already been back around the action. She’s been practicing, and she took part in pregame warm-ups both Monday and before LSU’s second exhibition game. Mulkey sounded eager to see what the 6-foot-3 Spanish sharpshooter can add once she’s fully cleared.
“I am so excited when we have her on the floor in practice,” Mulkey said, “because she just can flat-out stroke it out there.”
Morro arrives as one of LSU’s six newcomers, but she’s hardly a raw prospect. The Tigers signed her in April after four seasons of professional basketball overseas, including two years in FIBA’s EuroLeague, one in FIBA’s EuroCup and another in Spain’s top professional league. She’s also represented Spain on national teams, most recently helping the U20 squad win silver at the 2024 FIBA EuroBasket tournament.
Her 2025-26 season with Kutxabank Araski offered a clear picture of what LSU is getting. Morro averaged 8.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in 25 minutes per game, while shooting 38% from 3-point range on 3.1 attempts a night.
For now, LSU is leaning on other frontcourt pieces. Sophomores ZaKiyah Johnson and Grace Knox started against the Lions, while freshmen Lola Lampley and Anna Minaeva came off the bench.
Johnson, a 6-foot forward from Kentucky, delivered the biggest performance of the night, finishing with a career-high 33 points, 13 rebounds and five steals. She went 14 of 19 from the field and hit 2 of 3 from deep.
That kind of production only underscores what Morro could mean when she’s ready. She brings the kind of perimeter touch that can stretch a defense and open things up inside, and Mulkey pointed to her experience as another asset.
“She brings a maturity,” Mulkey said. “She's 21 years old, played big-time basketball in Spain on the top team over there, and she's got to get in her mind. She hasn't played in six months.”

LSU Just Changed A Game Day Tradition Before Alabama Weekend
LSU is tightening its game day playbook ahead of the Alabama weekend, and the changes go well beyond what happens between the lines. University officials announced new safety measures aimed at student gatherings after recent incidents involving uncontrolled crowds and disruptive behavior on campus, a sign that the school is trying to get ahead of the kind of chaos that can spill over when one of the seasons biggest home dates arrives.
The new policy includes bans on unauthorized large events, mandatory shutdowns of student tailgates before kickoff and postgame restrictions, all part of an effort to keep campus safer and more orderly on football Saturdays. LSU also is creating a Football Tailgating Steering Committee to oversee the process, underscoring how seriously the school is treating the push to preserve a family-friendly atmosphere around Tiger Stadium. Alabama Just Got An Early Reality Check For LSU Showdown
The first betting line for LSUs Week 10 trip to Alabama already says plenty about how this matchup is being viewed heading into the 2026 college football season. LSU opened as a 4-point favorite in a game that figures to carry real weight in both the SEC race and the College Football Playoff picture, with both teams ranked and carrying similar records into a meeting that comes after bye weeks.
For Alabama, it is an early reminder that the script around this rivalry may be shifting, even if the history still leans heavily in its favor. The Crimson Tide own a 58-27-5 edge all-time and have won the last three meetings, but the market is treating this one like a true toss-up with LSU holding the early edge, which only adds another layer to a game that already feels like one of the leagues biggest measuring sticks. LSU Just Landed An Elite Big With Huge Long Term Upside
LSUs 2027 recruiting class got another major boost with the commitment of Xavier Young, a five-star big who has reclassified from the 2028 class. The move gives the Tigers an even more impressive foundation in a cycle that is already drawing attention, and it comes with the kind of long-term upside programs build around when they land an elite frontcourt prospect this early.
Young pointed to his trust in LSUs coaching staff and the chance to develop sooner against stronger competition as key parts of his decision. For the Tigers, it is another sign that the pitch is resonating with top talent, and another reason this class is starting to look like one that could shape the programs future well beyond the next season.
