Lane Kiffin Targets Rising Star as LSU Builds 2027 Dream Team

Lane Kiffin and LSU vie for a competitive edge as they seek to secure top prospect Quentin Burrell in a heated recruiting race.

LSU's 2027 recruiting class is starting to take shape, with 4-star EDGE Jaiden Bryant and 4-star QB Peyton Houston already on board. But the Tigers aren't stopping there. One name that's buzzing around Baton Rouge is Quentin Burrell, a 4-star wide receiver who's got the attention of head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff.

Standing tall at 6'3" and weighing in at 195 pounds, Burrell hails from Chicago and has narrowed his choices down to 10 schools. LSU fans are thrilled to see their team still in the mix alongside Missouri, Miami (FL), Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Indiana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Michigan, and Arizona State.

Ranked as the No. 6 wide receiver and the No. 41 overall prospect by Rivals, Burrell is a hot commodity. 247Sports Composite also ranks him highly, placing him as the No. 9 wide receiver and the No. 50 overall player nationwide, not to mention the No. 2 player in Illinois.

Burrell is planning to visit all his top-10 schools this spring, with LSU scheduled for April 9. The Tigers extended their offer on January 29, and they're hoping to make a strong impression during his visit.

Notre Dame is a significant contender in Burrell's recruitment, with Missouri and Michigan also in the running. On3's prediction model favors the Fighting Irish, but LSU fans have faith in Kiffin's recruiting prowess.

Burrell has been a standout at Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, snagging 67 catches for 1,139 yards and 16 touchdowns just last season. His career stats are equally impressive, with 142 catches for 2,396 yards and a school record of 34 receiving touchdowns.

While Notre Dame might be leading the charge, LSU's presence in Burrell's top-10 and the upcoming visit offer a glimmer of hope for the Tigers. Kiffin's track record on the recruiting trail gives Tiger fans plenty to be optimistic about as they look to sway Burrell to Baton Rouge.
