Lane Kiffin Posts Cryptic Message After Raiding Deion Sanders Territory

Lane Kiffins latest recruiting coup signals a bold new era at LSU as top talent pivots away from Deion Sanders and Colorado.

Lane Kiffin isn’t easing into his LSU tenure-he’s coming in like a wrecking ball. In just two weeks, the Tigers have added more than 30 transfers, flipping the script on college football’s offseason and turning Baton Rouge into the epicenter of the portal frenzy. And now, it looks like Kiffin just landed his biggest prize yet.

Jordan Seaton, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the transfer portal, is expected to sign with LSU before the school’s enrollment deadline on Tuesday. That’s a massive win for the Tigers-and a gut punch for Deion Sanders and Colorado, who managed to hold onto Seaton even as 37 other players exited Boulder through the portal. But holding on doesn’t mean much if the finish line isn’t crossed, and it looks like Kiffin made sure Seaton never got there.

On January 20, Kiffin posted a not-so-subtle teaser on social media: a photo from his car dashboard, parked with Google Maps showing “LSU Avenue” just 450 feet ahead. The caption?

“This is going to be the best day yet!! @LSUfootball.”

No words, no names-but the message was loud and clear.

Seaton had been scheduled to visit Oregon after his LSU stop, a trip that could’ve changed the calculus. Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, who turned down the NFL for another shot at a national title, would’ve made a compelling pitch.

Seaton could’ve been the anchor of a Ducks offense built for a playoff run. But LSU wasn’t going to let that happen.

After visits to Mississippi State and Miami, Seaton arrived in Baton Rouge on Sunday. He was supposed to leave Monday.

Instead, LSU convinced him to extend his visit through Tuesday. According to multiple reports, the Tigers made it clear: they wanted a commitment before he boarded another plane.

He reportedly canceled a dinner scheduled in Eugene and stayed put in Louisiana. That’s the kind of recruiting win that echoes through the entire SEC.

Seaton’s résumé speaks for itself. A five-star recruit out of IMG Academy, he started every game at left tackle as a true freshman at Colorado.

Despite the Buffaloes’ 3-9 record in 2025, Seaton was a bright spot-an elite blindside protector in a program that struggled to find consistency anywhere else. His sophomore season was cut short by injury after nine games, but when he was on the field, the dominance was undeniable.

Now, he brings that talent-and two years of eligibility-to Baton Rouge. 247Sports ranks him as a five-star transfer and the No. 4 overall player in the portal. NFL scouts are already circling, with early buzz building for the 2027 draft.

And Seaton isn’t the only major addition. Kiffin already pulled in Sam Leavitt from Arizona State, the portal’s top-rated quarterback.

That duo alone would be enough to get LSU fans buzzing. But when you zoom out, the bigger picture is even more impressive: LSU has brought in 37 transfers, good for sixth nationally in portal rankings.

Oregon, by comparison, added 14 and sits at 26th.

That gap? It’s not just numbers.

It’s a statement. Kiffin isn’t here to rebuild.

He’s here to reload-and he’s doing it at warp speed.

With Seaton now expected to join the fold, LSU’s offensive line just got a whole lot scarier. And if this is the pace Kiffin’s setting in Year 1, the rest of the SEC better buckle up.
