Knox Kiffin Picks Up Offers from Washington, Cal as Recruiting Buzz Builds
The name Kiffin already carries weight in college football circles, and now it’s Knox’s turn to step into the spotlight.
Knox Kiffin, son of new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and a rising quarterback prospect in the Class of 2028, continues to gain traction on the recruiting trail. This week, the sophomore signal-caller confirmed he’s picked up offers from both Washington and Cal - two Power Five programs that clearly see the potential in the young QB.
“I finally got my film out there,” Kiffin said, referencing the recent surge in attention. And once the tape started circulating, it didn’t take long for programs to take notice.
At 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Kiffin is already up to nine scholarship offers - and he still has two full seasons of high school football ahead of him. With Washington and Cal now in the mix, he’s drawing interest from both the Big Ten and ACC, adding to a list that already included SMU, which extended an early offer back in May.
This latest development comes amid a whirlwind few months for the Kiffin family. Lane Kiffin’s move from Ole Miss to LSU has put Knox in the middle of the SEC spotlight, though the younger Kiffin is carving out his own path on the field.
After transferring from Palos Verdes in California to Oxford High School in Mississippi this past offseason, Knox made an immediate impact. In just eight games as a sophomore, he threw for 1,236 yards and 14 touchdowns, with only two interceptions - a strong showing that showcased his poise, arm talent, and decision-making under pressure.
While it’s still early in his recruiting journey, the buzz around Knox Kiffin is real - and growing. With two more years to develop and more eyes now on his every throw, expect the offer sheet to keep expanding. Programs are already jockeying for position, and it’s clear they’re not just chasing the Kiffin name - they’re chasing a quarterback who’s starting to make a name for himself.
