LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier recently opened up at the NFL Combine about a challenging season, revealing a core injury that struck just two days into fall camp before the 2025 season kicked off.
Nussmeier's season was significantly impacted by this injury, which eventually forced him off the field. He candidly shared the struggle:
"It happened on day two of practice during fall camp," Nussmeier said. "The impact was pretty clear."
The injury was a major hindrance, causing severe abdominal pain every time he attempted to throw. Despite the efforts of LSU's medical team, the exact nature of the injury remained elusive for most of the season.
"It wasn't anyone's fault," Nussmeier noted. "The staff did an excellent job taking care of me.
It was just an unusual situation, and we only figured it out about two months ago. I had roughly nine days to get ready for the Senior Bowl."
In recent weeks, Nussmeier has made significant strides in his recovery, feeling more like himself again-a development that brings a sense of excitement and optimism for his future endeavors.
