Notre Dame will get in if it finishes in the top 12 of the final CFP rankings. With historic bowl tie-ins removed from the assignment process beginning in 2026, the CFP Management Committee approved a setup in which the top three seeds, in rank order, choose their bowl path in the Playoff.
Game times and television network assignments for all Playoff games will be announced later.

LSU Faces Its Biggest Draft Day Fear With Elite Class On Line
The MLB draft opening has LSU baseball fans doing the kind of scoreboard-watching that can shape a roster before a pitch is thrown. A few committed players have already taken themselves out of the draft picture, including Nathanael Davis and Braxton Beaty, which only sharpens the focus on the rest of the Tigers class and what it might mean for next season if more names stay on campus.
For LSU, the real suspense sits in the middle and upper part of the draft board, where several prospects are expected to come off at different points over the next few days. Logan Schmidt, Anthony Murphy and Derek Curiel are all in the mix, and the draft will be carried across TV and streaming platforms, giving Tigers fans a front-row seat to the part of summer that can quietly reshape a roster before fall work even begins. LSU Fans Suddenly Have A Huge Decision To Watch With Elite Receiver
The waiting game around Monshun Sales has a date now, and for LSU fans that alone makes this one worth circling. The No. 1-ranked wide receiver recruit has set his commitment for July 17, with the announcement coming live on the Pat McAfee Show, and his list still includes LSU along with Ohio State, Alabama, Indiana and Texas.
The real intrigue is how the race has settled in the final stretch. Indiana and Alabama are believed to be the main contenders, Ohio State is still hanging around but no longer looks like the favorite, and Texas remains a name to keep in the background as a possible dark horse. For LSU, the appeal is obvious: this is the kind of receiver decision that can reshape a recruiting class, even if the Tigers are still waiting to learn whether they are the team that gets the call. LSUs Next DBU Duo Faces A Massive 2026 Test
LSUs secondary is already looking ahead to a 2026 season in which DJ Pickett and PJ Woodland are expected to take over as the Tigers top cornerback tandem. Both spent 2025 working behind Mansoor Delane, but each flashed enough to make the transition feel less like a leap and more like the next step in LSUs ongoing effort to keep its DBU reputation intact.
Pickett arrived with the kind of freshman buzz that usually comes with immediate expectations, while Woodland quietly built a strong case in coverage by staying productive and limiting damage against him. The offseason now becomes the proving ground for both, with Corey Raymond set to have a hand in sharpening two corners LSU will be counting on to handle much bigger assignments when the 2026 test arrives.
