The University of Louisville is making waves with its Class of 2027 recruiting efforts. With seven commitments already secured, the Cardinals find themselves sitting pretty at No. 5 in the 247Sports rankings. This spring, Louisville is planning a major recruiting weekend, with at least four of these talented prospects set to visit campus.
Mark your calendars for the weekend of May 29. Louisville is pulling out all the stops, hosting a slew of top prospects and commitments, including Sebastian Blue, Chuck Alexander, Cornelius Tims, and Allen Evans.
Let's break down these future Cardinals:
Sebastian Blue, a standout defensive lineman from Trinity High School, committed to Louisville on January 31. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 260 pounds, Blue's impact on the field is undeniable.
Last season, he racked up 39 tackles, nine sacks, and seven tackles for loss, playing a crucial role in Trinity's third consecutive Class 6-A state championship. As a sophomore, Blue showcased his potential with 21 tackles and seven sacks, even returning a fumble for a touchdown.
Wide receiver Chuck Alexander hails from Cincinnati Withrow and has been on board since November. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Alexander is ranked as the No. 7 prospect in Ohio.
His commitment came after witnessing Louisville's dominant 41-0 victory over Kentucky. Last season, Alexander earned second-team honors in the Southwest District Division II and was a first-team selection in the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference Red Division.
Cornelius Tims, another defensive lineman, joined the fold earlier this month. Tims, standing at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, had an impressive junior year with 74 tackles, 11 sacks, and 23 tackles for loss, helping Fort Myers South to a 7-4 record. He also brings his athleticism to the basketball court as a power forward.
Allen Evans, the highest-ranked commitment in the class, is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound star from Trinity. Committing on January 10, Evans is the No. 39 prospect in the 2027 class. His junior year was stellar, contributing to Trinity's state championship with 28 tackles and two interceptions.
Louisville's recruiting strategy is clearly paying off, and this upcoming weekend promises to be a pivotal moment for the program. With such promising talent on the horizon, the Cardinals are building a foundation that could shape their future success.
