Louisville’s portal haul already turned heads, but Flory Bidunga’s number is the one that really stops you in your tracks.
The Kansas transfer has become the centerpiece of Pat Kelsey’s massive offseason, and On3’s latest NIL valuation puts him at $6 million, good for No. 3 on the site’s list of the top 10 NIL valuations in college sports. Only Kentucky’s Milan Momcilovic and Miami quarterback Darian Mensah sit ahead of him.
That figure matches the kind of buzz Bidunga brought with him when Louisville landed the No. 1 Transfer Portal class. He arrives as a unanimous 5-star and is ranked as high as No. 1 overall in the portal, making him the biggest prize in a Cardinals run that included six transfer commitments.
Pete Nakos of On3 broke down why Bidunga sits so high on the list:
"Louisville went on a tear in the college basketball transfer portal, putting together a roster worth nearly $20 million. The crown jewel was Flory Bidunga, a Kansas big man transfer who commanded top dollar on the open market.
The Cardinals were willing to pay, landing a player who averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game at Kansas last season. The 6-foot-9 Bidunga led the Big 12 in both blocked shots (2.6) and field goal percentage (64.0%)."
Bidunga’s production at Kansas backs up the price tag. He finished with 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, earning All-Big 12 First-Team honors and the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award after leading the conference in blocks.
On3 noted that the valuation model is not a projection of what Bidunga is worth, but is “designed to track athletes’ compensation from colleges/collectives.” Still, the number underlines just how much Louisville invested in its portal push and how central Bidunga is to what the Cardinals are building.
For Louisville fans, the appeal is obvious: a 6-foot-9 center who protects the rim at an elite level and arrives with star power to match. Six million is a staggering figure, but it also reflects why Bidunga is the name everyone keeps circling in mid-July.

ESPN Just Sent Louisville A Message Fans Wont Like
ESPNs preseason Football Power Index has Louisville tucked just outside the national top 25, a reminder that the Cardinals still have something to prove even with the buzz around Jeff Brohms program. The model sees a team with enough talent to matter, but not quite enough yet to be treated like a true playoff regular, slotting Louisville fourth in the ACC behind Miami, Clemson and SMU and projecting a season that lands in the middle of the conference race.
There is still a case for optimism in Louisvilles corner, though. The Cardinals bring back key pieces and have added notable transfers for the 2026 season, the kind of roster depth Brohm has leaned on to keep the program moving forward. The question now is whether that mix is enough to close the gap on the leagues elite and force ESPNs numbers to look conservative once the season gets rolling. [Read more 🡒]
Louisville Just Landed The Kind Of Recruiting Win Fans Needed
Louisvilles 2027 recruiting momentum got another lift with a commitment that should resonate well beyond the usual early-cycle chatter. The Cardinals added a highly regarded defensive lineman who had been one of the more coveted names in the class, giving the staff another building block on a board that is starting to look more and more serious.
The timing matters, too, because this was not a quiet win tucked away from the national spotlight. Louisville had to hold off a group of major programs to get it done, and the payoff is a class that now includes four 4-star commitments. For a program trying to keep stacking talent and credibility on the trail, that kind of traction can change the feel of an entire cycle. [Read more 🡒]
