Jeff Brohm is bringing another familiar face back into the fold, and this one has deep ties to his coaching tree.
Me’Leick Miles, most recently the defensive line coach at Murray State, is set to join Louisville’s staff in a defensive quality control and recruiting role. It’s a reunion years in the making-Miles has worked under Brohm before, both at Purdue and during a one-year stint at Louisville in 2023.
If you’ve been following Brohm’s coaching journey, you know he values continuity and trust. Miles checks both boxes. The Indianapolis native spent two seasons guiding the Racers’ defensive front, but his coaching roots stretch back further, with a résumé that shows steady growth and versatility across multiple programs and roles.
His 2023 season at Louisville as a defensive graduate assistant saw the Cardinals finish with a top-20 national ranking and a trip to the ACC Championship Game. That kind of experience-working behind the scenes during a high-stakes, high-performance season-only adds to his value in a support role that’s all about preparation, detail, and development.
Before that, Miles logged three years as a grad assistant at Purdue, where he first connected with Brohm and began carving out his path in the college coaching ranks. His early coaching stops include stints at Indianapolis (as a running backs coach), D-III Manchester (linebackers coach), and Franklin College. That’s a wide range of positions and responsibilities, which speaks to his adaptability and understanding of the game from multiple angles.
And let’s not forget-Miles was a player before he was a coach. At Trine University in Indiana, he left his mark as the school’s all-time leader in career sacks.
That kind of production doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of technique, motor, and a deep understanding of how to win in the trenches-traits he’s now passing on to the next generation.
Now, he steps into a role that’s less about headlines and more about impact behind the curtain. Quality control and recruiting may not grab attention like a coordinator title, but make no mistake: these roles are the connective tissue of a successful program. From breaking down film and tendencies to helping shape the future of the roster, Miles will be a key piece of Brohm’s continued build at Louisville.
For Brohm, it’s another trusted voice in the room. For Miles, it’s a return to familiar ground-and another step forward in a coaching career that’s steadily gaining momentum.
