Louisville Lands Top Trinity Star During Big Recruiting Weekend

Louisville adds a rising in-state pass rusher to its 2027 class with a key pickup from powerhouse Trinity High.

Louisville continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail, adding another key piece to its Class of 2027 - and once again, it's a defensive force from in-state powerhouse Trinity High School.

Sebastian Blue, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive end, announced his commitment to the Cardinals during the program’s Junior Day event. Blue had drawn attention from several programs, picking up six offers in total, but from the moment Louisville extended theirs last summer, the Cardinals were firmly in the mix. Now, they’ve locked him in.

This marks the second commitment Louisville has landed from Trinity in this class, and Blue brings both production and pedigree. Trinity has captured three straight 6-A state championships, and Blue has been right in the thick of it over the past two seasons, anchoring a defense that’s been one of the most dominant in the state.

As a sophomore, Blue played in all 14 games and really hit his stride late in the season. He tallied 21 tackles, seven sacks, and two tackles for loss, showing a knack for getting into the backfield. He also recovered two fumbles and took one all the way to the house - a play that showcased not just his instincts, but his ability to finish.

Fast forward to this past season, and Blue took another step forward. He racked up 39 tackles, nine sacks, seven tackles for loss, and another fumble recovery. That kind of stat line doesn’t just happen - it’s the result of a high motor, strong technique, and a feel for the game that can’t be taught.

Blue’s offer list also included Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Eastern Kentucky, and Southern Miss - a solid group of programs that recognized his upside. But in the end, Louisville won out, keeping a rising in-state talent close to home.

For the Cardinals, this is more than just a local win. It’s a sign that the staff is locking down the region, especially when it comes to programs like Trinity that consistently produce college-ready talent. And for Blue, it’s a chance to continue his football journey in a familiar setting, with a program that believed in him early.

Louisville’s 2027 class is still taking shape, but with Blue in the fold, they’ve added a disruptive edge presence who knows how to win - and who’s only getting better.
