Louisville Lands Massive 2026 OT Commit in Baylor School’s Edgeworth
Louisville just secured a cornerstone for its future offensive line.
On June 16, 2025, the Cardinals landed a commitment from 6-foot-7, 325-pound offensive tackle Edgeworth out of Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. One look at his frame and it’s clear-this is a physically gifted lineman with the kind of size and reach that coaches dream about. With an 82-inch wingspan and a powerful build, Edgeworth is the kind of prospect who can anchor a line and open up lanes in the run game from day one.
Edgeworth didn’t just fall into Louisville’s lap. The Cardinals had to beat out a long list of suitors, including several Power Four programs. Kentucky made a strong push and even hosted him for an official visit, but it was Louisville that ultimately sealed the deal during his own official visit earlier in June.
This wasn’t just about facilities or campus vibes-Edgeworth found a real connection with Louisville’s offensive line coach Richard Owens. “I love him.
He’s a great guy,” Edgeworth said. “I feel like we share a lot of things in common, and I think he can get me where I want to be, so it’s awesome.”
That kind of coach-player relationship can be the difference in a player’s development, especially one with this much upside.
Edgeworth is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, checking in as the No. 47 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 17 overall player in Tennessee. But don’t let the stars fool you-he’s already proven he can lead from the trenches.
In his junior season, he helped guide Baylor School to a 12-1 record and a berth in the DII Class 3A state championship game. His performance earned him All-Region and All-State honors, and he did it all while protecting the blind side and paving the way for a high-powered offense.
There’s also a built-in bonus for Louisville: chemistry. Edgeworth is high school teammates with quarterback commit Briggs Cherry, meaning the Cardinals are bringing in a QB-OT duo that already knows how to operate together. That kind of familiarity can go a long way in easing the transition to the college game and building early cohesion on offense.
Edgeworth becomes one of five offensive linemen in Louisville’s 2026 class, and he’ll be on campus early-he’s set to enroll in January. That early arrival gives him a head start in the weight room, film room, and playbook, and it could fast-track his development as a contributor at the next level.
The bottom line? Louisville just added a high-upside, physically dominant tackle with a strong work ethic, a growing résumé, and a pre-built connection with their future signal-caller. If Edgeworth continues trending upward, he could be a foundational piece for the Cardinals’ offensive line for years to come.
