Louisville Lands Sixth 2027 Commit as Brohm and Marrow Stay Hot

Louisvilles recruiting momentum continues to surge as Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow make another key addition to a rapidly rising 2027 class.

Louisville’s momentum on the recruiting trail isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The Cardinals just landed their sixth commitment in the 2027 class, and this one comes from the Sunshine State - a pipeline Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow have been tapping into with purpose. Cornelius Tims III, a standout defensive lineman from South Fort Myers (FL), is officially headed to Louisville.

Tims made the announcement after what he described as a meaningful conversation with his family and Louisville defensive line coach Mark Ivey. It’s a big get for the Cards - not just because of Tims’ size and production, but because of what it signals about where this class is headed.

At 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, Tims brings the kind of interior presence that can anchor a defensive front. He’s coming off a junior season that saw him rack up 74 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and six sacks - plus a forced fumble for good measure.

That kind of production doesn’t go unnoticed, and it helped push his team to the quarterfinals last fall.

Louisville was actually the first school to offer Tims, way back in May of 2025. That early belief clearly meant something.

He visited campus the following spring and later referred to Louisville as “home.” That connection - both personal and football-related - helped the Cardinals beat out several Power Four programs for his commitment.

Syracuse, Kansas, Boston College, UCF, and West Virginia were all in the mix. Tims also made multiple visits to Miami, which showed interest but never extended an offer.

This commitment is another win for Mark Ivey, who was recently promoted to Co-Defensive Coordinator and now leads the defensive line. Ivey’s already making an impact in his new role, and Tims could be just the beginning.

The Cardinals are still in the hunt for Malachi Brown - the No. 100 overall prospect in the 2027 class and one of the top defensive linemen nationally. Brown, a Kentucky native, has offers from blue bloods like Alabama, Miami, and Ohio State.

Landing him would be a major statement.

As it stands, Louisville’s 2027 class is shaping up to be one of the most impressive in the country. Tims joins a group that already includes four four-star prospects - Allen Evans, Chuck Alexander, Jack Sorgi, and D’Angelo White - along with three-star Sebastian Blue. That kind of early haul has pushed the Cardinals up to No. 11 in Rivals’ national rankings.

There’s still a long way to go before signing day, but if this is the foundation, the ceiling is high. Brohm, Marrow, and now Ivey are building something real - and recruits are buying in.
