Louisville Lands Another Key 2027 Commit as Recruiting Momentum Builds

Louisville's 2027 recruiting class continues to surge as Jeff Brohm and his staff gain traction with top national prospects.

Louisville football is making serious noise on the recruiting trail for the 2027 class, and the momentum just keeps building. After securing commitments from ATH Josiah Pouncy and defensive lineman Cornelius Tims III over the weekend, the Cardinals are now in the mix for yet another dynamic playmaker.

Kaden Howard, a versatile 3-star athlete out of Miami Palmetto High School, has trimmed his list of schools down to seven-and Louisville made the cut. That’s a big win in itself, considering the competition. The other programs still in the running include Nebraska, Missouri, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Pitt, and Minnesota.

Howard’s recruitment has been heating up for a while now. Despite flying a bit under the radar nationally, he’s pulled in over 27 offers-an impressive number that speaks to the kind of upside he brings to the field.

Louisville officially jumped into the race on January 27, extending an offer to the 5-foot-11, 160-pound speedster. Pitt was the first Power Four school to take notice, but the Cardinals are hoping to make a strong late push.

What makes Howard such an intriguing target? Start with his explosiveness.

He’s a wide receiver who can stretch the field and make defenders miss in space. Last season, he racked up over 571 all-purpose yards, including 510 receiving yards on just 25 catches.

That’s over 20 yards per grab, along with seven touchdowns-clear evidence of a big-play threat who doesn’t need a ton of touches to make a major impact.

Louisville has made it a point to recruit the Florida pipeline hard, and Howard fits that mold perfectly. He’s a Miami native with the kind of speed and playmaking ability that translates well to the ACC. The Cardinals have had success pulling talent from Florida in recent cycles, and Howard could be the next in line.

As it stands, Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class is already turning heads. With seven commitments on the board, including four 4-star prospects, the class is currently ranked as high as No. 11 in the nation.

One of those commits is 4-star wide receiver Chuck Alexander. If Howard decides to join the fold, he’d become the second wideout in the class-a strong pairing that could give Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow a dynamic duo to build around on offense.

There’s still a long way to go in Howard’s recruitment, but Louisville is positioning itself well. With momentum building and a top-tier class already in place, the Cardinals are making it clear: they’re not just recruiting talent-they're building something special.
