Louisville remains in the hunt for one of the biggest names in the 2027 class after Cayden Daughtry trimmed his list to 14 schools.
The Cardinals are still alive for the elite point guard, who has become one of the most talked-about recruits in the country after a huge summer at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam. Daughtry’s rise was fueled by a viral run on the circuit, and Louisville is still in the picture after making his latest cut.
That list is a strong one, but it also shows how much work remains. Daughtry is a unanimous 5-star prospect and ranks as high as No. 3 overall in the nation, along with No. 2 among point guards.
His Peach Jam performance is what pushed him into another tier. Daughtry averaged 32.3 points per game while shooting 56.3 percent from the field, 38.2 percent from 3-point range, and 90.4 percent at the line. He added 6.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game, showing he was doing far more than just scoring.
In the five pool-play games, he averaged 34.8 points per game, breaking the previous record set by NBA player Cam Thomas. Across eight games, Daughtry piled up 258 points and finished with 49 assists, 34 rebounds and 23 steals.
That kind of production brought the full-court recruiting pressure. Daughtry collected 33 offers from major programs before narrowing things down to 14, with Louisville among the schools still in the mix. The full group includes Florida State, Florida, Miami, Iowa, UConn, Arkansas, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Villanova, Providence, Kentucky, Tennessee and USC.
