Louisville football isn’t just winning the offseason - it’s building something serious for the long haul. With head coach Jeff Brohm and recruiting ace Vince Marrow leading the charge, the Cardinals are putting together one of the most impressive offseason runs in the country.
They’ve already made noise in the transfer portal, landing multiple 4-star talents, while also convincing key contributors like Isaac Brown and AJ Green to return for another year in red and black. That’s the kind of momentum that turns a good team into a contender.
But the recruiting trail isn’t cooling off anytime soon. In fact, it’s just heating up.
Louisville’s 2027 class is already shaping up to be one of the best in the nation. With four early commitments - Allen Evans, D’Angelo White, Jack Sorgi, and Chuck Alexander - the Cardinals currently sit at No. 10 nationally. That’s a strong foundation, and it’s giving fans plenty of reason to believe this staff is building something sustainable.
And there’s more talent potentially on the way. Here are three 4-star recruits that Louisville is trending toward landing in the 2027 class, according to projections from On3 Sports:
3. Jordan Haskins | 4-star Safety | Lexington, KY
Louisville jumped in early on Jordan Haskins, extending an offer back in June 2024 - and that early belief could be paying off. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound safety is a top-300 national recruit (No. 291 overall) and ranks No. 30 among safeties in the 2027 class. He’s also one of the top players in Kentucky, checking in at No. 6 in the state.
Right now, the Cardinals are in the driver’s seat, with a 51% chance to land his commitment. That’s a strong lead over Ohio (15.8%) and Illinois (13.6%).
Indiana is also in the mix, and the Hoosiers have a history of pulling talent out of Kentucky. But with Louisville’s recent recruiting momentum and their track record of developing defensive backs, Haskins could be a natural fit.
He’s the kind of player who brings range, instincts, and toughness to the secondary - and he’s right in Louisville’s backyard.
2. Cam Wade | 4-star Wide Receiver | Paducah, KY
Cam Wade has been on Louisville’s radar for a while - and the feeling seems mutual. The 4-star wideout out of Paducah Tilghman High School has made multiple visits to campus, including a game day visit for the season opener against Eastern Kentucky.
That kind of face time matters, and it’s helped push the Cardinals into the lead, with a 31.3% chance of landing his commitment. Penn State is close behind at 27.4%, and the race is far from over.
Wade recently narrowed his list to six schools, with Louisville battling it out against North Carolina, South Carolina, LSU, Maryland, and Tennessee. He’s also eyeing visits to Kentucky and Florida State, so this one could go deep into the cycle. But Louisville is firmly in the mix - and if they can get him back on campus, they’ll have a real shot.
Ranked No. 220 overall and No. 29 among receivers in the 2027 class, Wade brings size, speed, and playmaking ability. He’s the No. 5-ranked player in Kentucky and would be a major in-state win for Brohm and Marrow.
1. Malachi Brown | 4-star Defensive Lineman | Kentucky
If there’s one name to circle in bold marker for Louisville’s 2027 class, it’s Malachi Brown.
The 4-star defensive lineman is one of the top recruits in the country, ranked No. 100 overall and No. 11 among defensive linemen. He’s also the No. 2-ranked player in Kentucky - and he’s got the kind of offer sheet that turns heads: Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Indiana, and more. In total, Brown has over 16 offers and has already taken unofficial visits to several heavyweights, including Louisville, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, and Nebraska.
Right now, Louisville holds a slight edge in the race for his commitment, with a 29.7% chance. But Ohio State (26.0%) and Nebraska (22.3%) are right on their heels. This is a classic recruiting battle between a rising ACC power and two Big Ten bluebloods - and it’s going to take everything Louisville has to close the deal.
Brown is a game-wrecker in the trenches. He’s quick off the snap, disruptive in the backfield, and has the kind of frame that projects well at the next level. If the Cardinals can keep him in-state, it would be a massive statement about the direction of the program under Brohm.
The Bottom Line
Louisville’s 2026 offseason has been about more than just making headlines - it’s about laying the foundation for sustained success. Between portal wins, key returnees, and a top-10 2027 class already in motion, the Cardinals are building something with staying power. And if they can lock in a few more top-tier recruits like Haskins, Wade, and Brown, don’t be surprised if this group becomes the core of a future ACC title contender.
Brohm and Marrow are doing more than just recruiting - they’re building a culture. And right now, that culture looks like it’s built to win.
