Louisville Rolls to 12th Straight Win Behind Mackenly Randolph’s Career Night
The Louisville Cardinals are on a tear, and Saturday afternoon was just the latest example of why they’re one of the most dangerous teams in the country right now. No. 8 Louisville extended its winning streak to 12 games with a dominant 85-56 victory over Boston College, improving to 19-3 overall and a perfect 9-0 in ACC play.
From the opening tip, Louisville left no doubt. The Cardinals jumped out to a 10-0 lead less than five minutes into the game, setting the tone early with crisp ball movement and high-efficiency shooting.
They hit seven of their first 10 shots, while Boston College struggled to find any rhythm offensively-connecting on just one of their first eight attempts. By the end of the first quarter, the Eagles had more turnovers (four) than made field goals (three), and the gap only widened from there.
Mackenly Randolph, the 6-foot sophomore forward and daughter of former NBA All-Star Zach Randolph, tied her career high with 13 points, continuing a strong stretch of play. She dropped 10 of those in the first half and finished 5-of-7 from the field. This marks the third straight game she’s hit double figures-another career-best streak that speaks to her growing confidence and impact in Louisville’s rotation.
But it wasn’t just Randolph. Louisville got balanced production across the board.
Tajianna Roberts chipped in 11 points and dished out six assists, while Skylar Jones also added 11. In total, all 12 Cardinals who saw the floor got in the scoring column-a testament to the depth and unselfishness that’s become a hallmark of this team.
Louisville shot 54.7% from the field, their second-best shooting performance of the season, even with a cold fourth quarter where they went just 4-of-15. By the time the Cardinals built an 81-39 lead with under six minutes to play, the outcome was well in hand.
On the other side, it was another tough outing for Boston College. The Eagles dropped their 14th straight game and fell to 4-18 overall, 0-9 in the ACC.
Freshman Amira Anderson was a bright spot, leading BC with 16 points, while Jocelyne Grier added 13. But the Eagles shot just 29.2% from the floor-it’s the third time this season they’ve failed to crack 30% shooting in a game.
Louisville’s 12-game winning streak is now their longest since the 2021-22 season, when they rattled off 15 in a row. And if they keep playing like this-efficient offense, stifling defense, and contributions up and down the roster-there’s no reason to think they can’t match or even surpass that mark.
The game was originally scheduled for Sunday but was moved up to Saturday due to an incoming winter storm expected to hit the Louisville area. The early tip didn’t throw the Cardinals off one bit.
Next up, Boston College will try to regroup as they prepare to host N.C. State on Thursday. Louisville, meanwhile, just keeps rolling.
