Louisville’s top 2027 commit Ja’Hyde Brown didn’t leave much room for interpretation Friday morning.
When a Kentucky fan page tried to float the idea that the 4-star wide receiver was headed to Lexington for Kentucky’s game against Alabama, Brown cut it off immediately on social media. His response was simple and blunt: “NOT TRUE FAKE NEWS” in all caps.
The post was enough to slam the brakes on the rumor, and the Kentucky fan page has since deleted its post.
Brown has been a Louisville commit since March 30, and the Cardinals have held onto him despite the constant chatter that comes with a rising in-state prospect. He originally committed to Indiana before backing off that pledge in late 2025, which set off a recruiting battle between Louisville and Kentucky. Jeff Brohm won that fight and landed the Louisville native.
Since then, Brown has looked fully locked in with the Cardinals. He even traveled to Tennessee to watch Louisville face Ole Miss in Week 1, a clear sign of where his allegiance sits.
The senior at Christian Academy of Louisville has also been backing up the hype on the field. Through his first three games, he has piled up 415 yards and nine touchdowns. Last week alone, he posted six catches for 143 yards and three scores against Lexington Christian Academy.
Brown is ranked as high as the No. 1 player in Kentucky by MaxPreps. Nationally, he sits as high as No. 66 overall and No. 11 among wide receivers.
For Louisville fans, Friday’s rumor lasted only a moment. Brown shut it down just as fast.
